All 32 turbine foundations for the 200MW Trianel Windpark Borkum II offshore wind farm have been installed at the construction site some 45 kilometers north of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea.

“We are right on schedule with the construction of the offshore wind farm. We were able to compensate for the partly difficult weather conditions during the first construction phase,” said Irina Lucke , Technical Director of Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG.

At the moment, the inter-array cable system is being laid and the turbine foundations are getting connected to the transformer substation. The construction works will be continued during the winter.

The beginning of the next phase of construction is planned for the spring of 2019. The 32 Senvion 6.2M 152 Power Upgrade offshore wind turbines will be installed in the North Sea by autumn 2019.

The Jan De Nul jack-up vessel Vole au vent will be in operation for this task and the base harbour for the construction works is Eemshaven in the Netherlands.

The first of a total of 64 tower segments and 96 rotor blades were already shipped there. In the months to come, the further components, such as the 32 nacelles with pre-assembled rotor hubs will follow.
