EnBW North America, EDF Renewables, and Vineyard Wind have joined the New York Offshore Wind Alliance (NYOWA).
NYOWA gathers environmental, business, labor, wind industry and community organizations supporting the responsible development of offshore wind power for New York.
The New York State’s Governor Andrew Cuomo has proposed a target of 9GW of operational offshore wind capacity by 2035. The state had already established a goal of reaching 2.4GW of operational capacity by 2030.
“EnBW North America is excited to join the New York Offshore Wind Alliance to help advance the Cuomo Administration’s historic commitment to responsible offshore wind development off the New York coastline,” said Bill White , EnBW North America Managing Director.
“With a diverse membership connected by a common mission, NYOWA is a central voice in New York’s offshore wind conversation and we are proud to join the effort.”
Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, a joint venture between EDF Renewables and Shell New Energies, has submitted a bid to develop New York’s first commercial scale offshore wind farm.

“The Alliance will connect and engage the various players to deliver insights as we work together to meet New York’s ambitions goals.”
Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Avangrid Renewables, is also one of the developers who responded to the state’s first offshore wind solicitation with a proposal to build the Liberty Wind offshore wind farm with the capacity of up to 1.2GW.
