Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up vessel Brave Tern has departed the Port of Esbjerg carrying the first turbines destined for the EnBW Hohe See offshore wind farm in Germany.
According to the Danish port, the 132m long vessel sailed out yesterday morning with the first batch of Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines.
Fred. Olsen Windcarrier won the contract for the transport and installation of 71 turbines for the 497MW project back in March 2016.
Brave Tern and its sister vessel Blue Tern are in charge of installing the units at the offshore site located 95km north of Borkum and 100km northwest of Helgoland.
The Hohe See offshore wind farm is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of the year.
