Portugal-based ASM Industries has started test operations at the company’s new industrial unit dedicated to the production of offshore wind towers and foundations – ASM Offshore.
The test phase has an expected duration of two months during which ASM Industries is undertaking the calibration and commissioning of the manufacturing equipment in preparation for the ramp-up of the production.
The new industrial infrastructure covers a total area of about 72,000m² in the Logistics and Industrial Activities Zone of the Port of Aveiro (ZALI). The fabrication area is occupying some 22,000m² and 46,000m² is earmarked to accommodate the storage area.
The project represents an investment of EUR 29 million, supported by co-financing of the Compete 2020 / Portugal 2020 program / European Structural and Development Funds of the European Union.
