Global Wind Service (GWS) is set to provide offshore installation technicians for the turbine installation at the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm in Germany.

The Denmark-headquartered company will begin supporting MHI Vestas during the installation of 33 8.4MW turbines beginning from June.

In addition to providing staff for the installation phase, GWS said it will support MHI Vestas with the turbine pre-assembly activities through its setup with MHI on ESPF in Esbjerg.

“We are grateful to MHI Vestas for trusting us with this interesting project and we look very much forward mobilizing our experienced personnel across to Deutsche Bucht,” said Lars Petersen , CCO at GWS.

“We have had a close and strong partnership with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind through many years and are very pleased to continue our journey – this time installing 33 turbines at Deutsche Bucht.”

The 269MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm is located some 95km northwest of the Borkum Island in Germany.

The project’s 33 turbines, set to be installed on 31 monopile foundations and two mono bucket foundations, are expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.
