Wiking Helikopter Service has secured a contract by Siemens Gamesa for the Hohe See and Albatros offshore wind farms in Germany.
The Germany-headquartered offshore flight specialist will provide helicopter crew change services to the project construction sites from its base in Emden.
The 497MW Hohe See will comprise a total of 71 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines, which are currently being installed at the site some 95km north of Borkum and 100km northwest of Helgoland.
The neighboring 112MW Albatros project will feature 16 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines.
Foundation installation was recently completed at the two offshore wind farms, which developer EnBW plans to have commissioned by the end of the year.
