Rotech Wraps Up IRM at North Sea Wind Farm

Rotech Subsea Ltd. has completed a three-phase inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) scope at an offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

Rotech mobilized its TRS1 Controlled Flow Excavation (CFE) tool to carry out cable de-burial and retrenching at the project, while also deploying its new RSG1 cable grab tool.

According to the company, the work was conducted for a major client.

“We are delighted to be working as primary service provider on this North Sea renewables IRM campaign,” said Rotech’s Director of Subsea, Stephen Cochrane .

“The contract is recognition of Rotech Subsea as the leader in non contact trenching with our patented RS CFE technology while the capabilities of our state-of-the-art cable grab tool is seeing us increasingly being retained as a one stop shop for IRM scopes such as this.”

To remind, Rotech launched the RSG1 tool in July last year, shortly after which it debuted at an undisclosed offshore wind project in the North Sea.

RSG1 is said to offer cable de-burial, cutting, grabbing, recovery and backfilling services, and can be applied to umbilical recovery, pipeline recovery and rock removal/relocation. It can operate in depths of up to 200m.
