Atlas Professionals is set to conduct a market study on the availability of the required labor and vessel resources for the Star of the South offshore wind project in Australia, together with the project developer.
The report will analyze the labor requirements that are necessary during the development, construction and maintenance phases of the what will be Australia’s first offshore wind farm.
According to Atlas Professionals, the study will assess the future availability of required labor and the necessity to upgrade and/or train available manpower.
The report will also focus on the requirements for specialist vessels. These requirements will be analyzed against the availability of vessels, existing and new to be built, and the competition for specialized vessels with other future offshore projects in Australia and the broader region.

At the end of March, the Australian Government approved a deed of license to allow Offshore Energy (OEPL) to undertake resource exploration for the Star of the South offshore wind farm.
The project could comprise up to 250 turbines with a combined capacity of up to 2GW located off the south coast of Gippsland, Victoria.
