The Chinese Dalian Shizhe New Energy Technology has put two wind farm service vessels (WFSVs) into operation.

According to Dalian Shizhe, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ionix Technology, the two WFSVs were officially launched in early September.

The China-based company revealed that it plans to launch an additional vessel before the end of the year.

“Located in Dalian, a coastal city in north China, Dalian Shizhe has the geographical advantage in the offshore wind support industry. Zhuanghe, an immediate city of Dalian, is the first smart energy pilot city in China with a plan to build wind projects with a total capacity of 300 MW. The local wind farm service is still a blue ocean market,” said Cheng Li , Chairman of Ionix Technology.

“The operation of the two wind farm service vessels is a good start for Dalian Shizhe to establish a professional offshore wind support team. We believe that Dalian Shizhe can grasp the market opportunity for offshore wind support services.”

To remind, Northern China’s first offshore wind turbine started producing energy at the beginning of the year when the first 6.45MW unit at the 300MW Dalian Zhuanghe project was launched.

Recently, the 300MW Dalian Zhuanghe II offshore wind project entered the construction phase on the east side of Shicheng Island in the Zhuanghe area of Dalian City.
