A floating lidar metocean buoy will be towed out from Drogheda Port and deployed at the Oriel wind farm in the Outer Dundalk Bay, Ireland, a marine notice said.

The duration of deployment is one day, and it will be carried out in the two-week period 11-25 October, subject to weather conditions.

The surveys will be completed using the multi-purpose, shallow draft tug AMS Retriever. The Oriel wind farm license area lies 22 kilometres off the coast of Dundalk.

Oriel Windfarm Ltd, the developer of the project, secured a Foreshore Licence to carry out the surveys at the site in May 2019.

The 330MW Oriel offshore wind farm is a joint venture project of Ireland’s ESB and Belgian offshore wind developer Parkwind. The wind farm is expected to start commercial operations in early 2020s.
