CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) has secured a contract for the transportation and installation of foundations at the Zhong Neng offshore wind project in Taiwan.
The joint venture has also signed a Preferred Bidder Agreement (PBA) for the transportation and installation of wind turbines at the project.
In order to implement the localization policy required by the Taiwanese government, the Zhong Neng Wind Power Corporation Preparatory Office has worked closely with CDWE, with the aim of maximizing local content, DEME said.
The 300MW Zhong Neng offshore wind farm is being developed by China Steel Corporation and is planned to be completed in 2024.
Back in December 2017, GeoSea, now part of DEME Offshore, formed CDWE with CSBC Corporation with an aim to facilitate cooperation with European companies and ensure the availability in Taiwan of foreign expertise in the fields of project and fleet management, installation techniques and marine works safety.
The joint venture secured a PBA in May for the turbine transport and installation at CIP’s Changfang and Xidao offshore wind projects. Recently, the company signed a Balance of Plant (BOP) Preferred Supplier Agreement (PSA) for the Hai Long 2 and 3 offshore wind projects.
