Huadian Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. has commenced the installation of turbines at the 300MW Sheyang H1 offshore wind farm in China.
According to Huadian Heavy Industry, the first 4.5MW turbine was installed at the site offshore the Jiangsu Province on 27 October.
The first monopile foundation was installed in mid-September at the circa 47.8km2 area in water depths of between 13m and 16m.
Sheyang H1 is being developed by Huaneng Renewables Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of China Huaneng Group.
The CNY 5.4 billion project is one of 24 approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission in January 2019. All of the projects are expected to be completed before 2020.
In June, Jiangsu Zhongtian Technology (ZTT) won an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a section of the 300MW offshore wind farm.
