The GE Haliade-X 12MW prototype wind turbine produced its first power at the beginning of November.
It features three LM Wind Power 107-meter-long blades, currently the world’s largest, which were installed in mid-October.
Local teams are now proceeding with the testing phase, during which different types of measurements will be performed to obtain a Type Certificate for the turbine in 2020.
The serial production of what is the world’s most powerful offshore wind turbine is expected to start in the second half of 2021.
