Siemens Gamesa and Yeong Guan Group have signed a conditional contract for the production of offshore wind turbine castings in Taiwan.

According to Siemens Gamesa, a new factory will be built in the port of Taichung and will manufacture turbine castings for the 300MW Hai Long 2 offshore wind project.

To remind, Siemens Gamesa was recently selected as the preferred supplier of turbines for the Hai Long 2 wind farm.

The company stated it will use its existing footprint and supply base in Taiwan in order to fulfill localization requirements on the project.

Offshore construction on the 300MW Hai Long 2 offshore wind project will begin in 2023 at the site located approximately 5km off the coast of Changhua County.
