Van Oord has signed a framework agreement with the Hendrik Veder Group under which it will outsource its hoisting and lifting equipment management to the Rotterdam-based company.
The two-year agreement will see the parties collaborating on managing lifting equipment for offshore wind turbines, with a focus on sustainable methods.
“This partnership enables us to use lifting equipment in a sustainable way,” said Michiel Pieterman , Offshore Wind Operations Manager at Van Oord.
“The high-quality lifting equipment has a longer lifespan, because it is either reused or converted into new raw materials, while guaranteeing 100 percent compliance at all times. This is a practical way of helping both companies achieve their sustainability goals.”
According to Van Oord, the partnership will allow both companies to profit from each other’s knowledge, which will allow efficient and flexible planning of projects.
