DEME Offshore’s jack-up vessel Innovation has installed 13 of the 94 monopile foundations on the 752MW Borssele 1&2 offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea , Ørsted said.
Innovation is loading the monopiles and transition pieces at Sif’s Maasvlakte 2 facility before transporting and installing them at the site located some 22 kilometres off the coast of the Zeeland province.
The first foundation was installed in mid-January.
The installation of the Siemens Gamesa 8MW wind turbines is expected to start in April, Ørsted said. DEME Offshore will also transport and install the 94 wind turbines.
The wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2020.
