Van Oord has awarded Vos Prodect Innovations with a contract to deliver cable hang-off systems for the Windpark Fryslân nearshore wind project in the Netherlands.
Vos Prodect Innovations said it is in charge of developing a custom made cable hang-off system, which is to be qualified with mechanical tests.
Windpark Fryslân is being built by Zuiderzeewind, a consortium of Van Oord and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
Located in the IJsselmeer and some 6km off the Frisian coast, the 382.7MW project will comprise 89 Siemens Gamesa 4.3MW turbines scheduled to be commissioned in 2021.
Van Oord is responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the monopile foundations and cables, as well as the delivery of the equipment to install the turbines.
Once operational, Windpark Fryslân will become the largest wind farm in the world situated in inland water.
