Innogy has chartered the service operations vessel (SOV) Esvagt Froude to provide offshore accommodation to the construction management team working on the Triton Knoll wind farm located off the Lincolnshire coast, UK.
This is the first time for innogy to established its team offshore rather than at an onshore location.
Esvagt Froude has already made its first visit to the port and completed its first rotations.
Every two weeks, the construction, health & safety and marine operations coordinators will return to Grimsby’s Offshore Construction Coordination Base, in Royal Dock, to rotate with colleagues who will then head offshore.
The SOV is supported by Seacat Services, which is providing two crew transfer vessels (CTVs) for specialist crew transfer and logistical support, also operating out of Grimsby.
During the early stages, the dock will be managing up to 90 personnel, as two specialist teams swap places for the next trip.
Triton Knoll will feature 90 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines located over 32km off the Lincolnshire coast. The first turbine foundation was recently installed at the 857MW project.
