Load-out of the Pile Installation Frame onto a heavy load barge

A Pile Installation Frame (PIF) for Seaway Yudin’s pin-pile installation work in Taiwan has been loaded onto a vessel in the Port of Rotterdam, from where it will be transported to Taiwan, Seaway 7 said on social media.

The company did not name the project for which the PIF is being transported.

Seaway 7 has been selected for several projects in Taiwan, one of which is the upcoming Formosa 2 , where the company is in charge of transportation, pre-piling and installation of 47 jacket foundations. The pin piles for the jackets are already being produced and readied for transport and installation.

The construction on the Formosa 2 project started in June, with onshore and nearshore works for the landfall site.

Seaway Yudin was also deployed to install the monopile foundations for the now operational Formosa 1 Phase 2 offshore wind farm.

In 2018, Subsea 7, Seaway 7’s parent company, also secured a contract for the supply and installation of the export and inter-array grid cable systems at the Taiwanese Yunlin offshore wind farm. The following year, the company announced a contract for the installation of a submarine cable system on another offshore wind farm project in Taiwan.
