The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy will reveal the results of the tender to develop the Hollandse Kust (noord) offshore wind farm site on Wednesday, 29 July.
The results of the subsidy-free round will be revealed after the closing of the Dutch stock exchanges, Ruud de Bruijne, Project manager offshore wind energy at Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), said in a social media post.
The Hollandse Kust (noord) zone consists of two sites located 18.5 kilometres off the west coast of the Netherlands. The two sites will accommodate an offshore wind capacity of between 693 MW and 760 MW in total.
The application window for the subsidy-free tender round opened on 2 April and closed on 30 April.
The tender attracted bids from several major players, including Ørsted and a consortium of Shell and Eneco .
Vattenfall, the winner of the two subsidy-free Hollandse Kust (zuid) tenders, is not competing for the rights to develop the Hollandse Kust (noord) wind farm.
The Hollandse Kust (noord) is one of three offshore wind areas chosen by the Dutch government to be developed by 2023, as part of the country’s Energy Agreement for sustainable growth. The other two wind areas are Borssele and Hollandse Kust (zuid).
This tender is the fifth in a series of solicitations to help the country reach around 11 GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030.
