Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH has issued a tender seeking helicopter services for the 400 MW offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

The tender seeks a service provider to carry out helicopter flights for the regular transport of people and freight, including dangerous goods, from Emden to the wind farm and back.

At least one return flight should be carried out every two weeks on a fixed weekday and one additional flight every three weeks, which is an estimated total of 44 flights per year.

There is also the possibility of optional flights on the part of the client as required, said to probably include a total of 10 flights per year.

The transport needs include about 6 to 12 people, plus luggage and other freight, thus a total payload of about 800 up to 1.100 kg.

The contract term will be two years, with options to extend three times by 12 months.

Operators of neighboring wind farms should be given the opportunity to optionally also transport people with luggage using these flights.

The deadline for submitting applications for the tender is 2 November by 11:00 local time.

Global Tech I comprises 80 AREVA M5000-116 turbines, each with a capacity of 5 MW, located approximately 140km northwest of Emden in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The 400 MW wind farm has been in operation since 2015.
