VINCI Energies has acquired offshore wind specialist EWE Offshore Service & Solutions GmbH from EWE.
EWE OSS specializes in the operations management and maintenance services of offshore wind farms in the North Sea with an own control centre and 24/7 standby teams, and providing services for their project development and engineering support.
Among other things, the company has in-depth know-how in the areas of substations, as well as IT and communications technology, VINCI Energies said.
Headquartered in Oldenburg, Germany, with locations in Emden and Borkum, EEW OSS generated annual sales of EUR 30 million in 2019 and employs 160 people.
Following the acquisition, EWE OSS will be renamed Omexom Renewable Energies Offshore GmbH. It will become the new Offshore division within the Omexom Transformation business line in Germany.
The company will be developed into VINCI Energies’ offshore competence center and with time evolve into a full-service provider for offshore substations.

VINCI Energies will take over all employees and all locations of EWE OSS. The Alpha Ventus, Riffgat, and TWB II offshore wind farms will remain in the ownership of EWE.
