The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) has released a Notice of Intent for a solicitation that, if issued, would seek to fund projects dedicated to expanding the offshore wind workforce.
The solicitation would work to increase the participation of underrepresented populations and/or target communities in the developing offshore wind workforce and reduce barriers for individuals interested in pursuing such job opportunities.
The purpose of the non-binding Notice of Intent is to provide notice to stakeholders of MassCEC’s intention to solicit proposals related to offshore wind workforce development and training and to invite comments.
All interested and affected groups and individuals are welcome to submit feedback on the notice by 5 February 11:59 PM local time.
While proposals relating to other dimensions of increasing access to opportunity in the offshore wind workforce would be considered, MassCEC is specifically interested in projects and programs that will increase participation of priority groups in existing programs, and/or provide career guidance and counseling on offshore wind career pathways for students and job seekers in priority groups.
The planned total program budget for the solicitation is up to USD 600,000, with a maximum award amount of USD 250,000.
MassCEC anticipates to release the solicitation in late February and announce the final awards in June.
