EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG has selected Northern HeliCopter GmbH to provide a rescue helicopter for the Hohe See and Albatros wind farms in the German North Sea.
Apart from the rescue helicopter, the Emden-based Northern HeliCopter will provide aeronautical and medical crew.
The contract will run from 1 February 2021 to 31 January 2025, with options for two one-year extensions.
Located some 95 kilometres north of the Borkum island, the Hohe See and the neighbouring Albatros wind farms comprise 87 Siemens Gamesa 7 MW wind turbines.
They have a combined capacity of 609 MW and have been in full operation since November 2019 and January 2020 , respectively.
