Prysmian has selected Tekmar Energy’s Generation 10 Cable Protection System (CPS) for the export cables at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France.
Tekmar will deliver the latest generation of its TekTube® CPS this year from its manufacturing facility in the North East of England.
In 2020, the company won a CPS contract for the wind farm’s inter-array cables with the French cable installation specialist Louis Dreyfus TravOcean, which will install the inter-array cables, also supplied by Prysmian.

Prysmian started installing the export cables for the 480 MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm last summer, using its cable-laying vessel Cable Enterprise . In total, the company will install 33 kilometres of submarine cables and 27 kilometres of underground cables to connect the wind farm to the French grid.
The 480 MW Saint-Nazaire, owned by EDF Renewables and Enbridge, is located off Loire-Atlantique. Also known as Parc du Banc de Guérande, the offshore wind farm will comprise 80 GE Haliade 150-6MW turbines manufactured in France and is scheduled to be operational in the summer of 2022.
