Cadeler , formerly known as Swire Blue Ocean (SBO), has awarded KenzFigee with a contract to replace the current offshore deck crane on wind farm installation vessel (WFIV) Wind Orca.
KenzFigee will deliver the box boom type, electric hydraulic-driven Ram Luffing crane with a lifting capacity of 25 tons (SWL) in late 2021.
After testing and commissioning, the Ram Luffing crane will be operational early 2022 and ready for its first assignment onboard Wind Orca.
The reason for this move is Cadeler’s decision to replace the current offshore deck crane on the self-elevating WFIV in preparation for the changing offshore wind market demands.
“Cadeler looks forward to installation of the deck crane on ‘Wind Orca’ and is confident KenzFigee will deliver an advanced solution meeting our operational needs. Replacement of ‘Wind Orca’s’ current deck crane is necessary to ensure the vessel is ready for future wind turbine installation projects, which require a crane with improved reach for lifting various tools and equipment on deck,” said Mikkel Gleerup , Cadeler CEO.
Cadeler also recently contracted NOV to provide a new crane on Wind Orca which will have a lifting capacity of 1600 metric tons at a radius of 40 meters, with the main hook at a height of 159.7 meters above the main deck.
