Acta Marine’s service operation vessel (SOV) Acta Auriga has completed its three-year maintenance campaign at the Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in the German North Sea.
Acta Auriga started the O&M works on the 400 MW offshore wind farm in April 2018 just weeks after it was delivered from Ulsteinvik, Norway.
According to Acta Marine, the SOV performed 9,300 gangway connections, transferred 44,600 persons and had no lost time injuries.
“The project has been intense especially considering the fact that Auriga has replaced two maintenance vessels that were initially performing the O&M scope on the project,” the company stated.
After a short maintenance stop at Niestern Sanders, Acta Auriga will continue to work in offshore wind in the UK as a construction support vessel.
Bard Offshore 1 is Germany’s first commercial offshore wind farm, which went fully operational in 2013. The 400 MW project comprises 80 5 MW turbines located 100 km off the country’s northwestern coast.
