Wiking Helikopter Service GmbH has signed a multi-year service contract with Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH to provide personal and material helicopter transport services to the Global Tech I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
As part of this contract, Wiking will carry out helicopter crew change service from its base in Emden with its Leonardo AW 139 and Airbus H145 helicopter types.

Located 140 kilometres from Emden in the German Exclusive Economic Zone, the Global Tech I offshore wind farm consists of 80 5MW AREVA M5000-116 turbines that have been fully operational since 2015.
Global Tech I is the farthest offshore wind farm installed in German waters.
