Ocean Winds is launching a recruitment process for the operations and maintenance of the Moray East offshore wind farm in Scotland.
Over 20 new posts, including apprenticeships, are open, in addition to the circa 60 positions that will be needed to service the project’s turbines.
Jack-up vessel Bold Tern has so far installed 28 of 100 MHI Vestas 9.5 MW turbines at the project site some 22 km off the Aberdeenshire coast.
The construction teams will hand over the project to the O&M team in 2022, but recruitment is needed now to build and train the team so that there is full capability at handover, Ocean Winds said.
The existing marine coordination team in Fraserburgh will become part of the wider O&M team as the construction of a new facility at the harbor allows the staff to work from the same purpose-built facility.
Additionally, the company has just launched the graduate recruitment program for 2021, with international placements for the 15 selected graduates.

“I am confident that we’ll secure further projects through the ScotWind leasing round that will require additional recruitment to develop those new projects and ultimately new O&M teams based in relevant ports.”
Moray East is being developed by Moray Offshore Windfarm East Ltd (MOWEL), a joint venture company owned by Ocean Winds (56.6%) Diamond Green Limited (33.4%), and CTG (10%).
The 950 MW offshore wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned next year.
