The Island Crown vessel has started working at the Moray East offshore wind farm site, providing accommodation and walk-to-work (W2W) services during the project construction activities.
Island Crown has joined the fleet of vessels deployed on the project after Moray Offshore Windfarm (East) Ltd (MOWEL) awarded Island Offshore with a contract for offshore accommodation and W2W support.

The vessel, which is operating out of Peterhead in north-east Scotland, is providing transfer of the technicians and equipment for work on the wind farm’s three offshore transformer modules (OTMs).
Island Crown will be supporting these operations until the end of June, with potential extensions into July 2021.
Before being deployed on Moray East, the vessel completed a campaign at the Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm in Denmark, where it was supporting inter-array cable pull-in and termination and testing work, together with its sister vessel Island Diligence.
At the Moray East wind farm off Scotland, all three of its offshore transformer modules have been in place since September 2020 and the final inter-array cables were laid at the beginning of last month.
The project is currently in the wind turbine installation phase, with 40 of the 100 Vestas V164-9.5MW units now installed.
