The jacket foundation for the offshore substation that will be part of the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm is scheduled to be installed at the project site off France in August.
This is according to the latest update from the jacket’s builder Rosetti Marino, which has just sent the structure on a 22-day journey from its Piomboni Yard in the Port of Ravenna on the Adriatic coast to the northern part of the Bay of Biscay off the French Atlantic coast.

The jacket will be installed on the four pin piles installed in April.
The Italian company was contracted to manufacture the foundation after a consortium of Atlantique Offshore Energy, GE Grid Solutions and Société de Dragage International (SDI), part of DEME Group, won the EPCI contract for the Saint-Nazaire electrical offshore substation in June 2019.
The 480 MW offshore wind farm, also known as Parc du Banc de Guérande, will comprise 80 GE Haliade 150-6MW turbines, for which the monopile foundations are currently being installed.
The Saint-Nazaire project is being developed by Eolien Maritime France (EMF), a consortium of EDF Renouvelables, Enbridge, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
