Ramboll Secures Five Offshore Wind Contracts in Asia

Ramboll Design for Hai Long Jackets

Ramboll announced today (7 July) that it had secured five new contracts for offshore wind farms in Japan, China, Taiwan and South Korea over the last ten months.

The contracts cover site condition assessment, project development and design services for offshore wind farms located in Japan, China, Taiwan and South Korea and have a total value of DKK 60 million (approx. EUR 8 million) for the company.

The five offshore wind farms Ramboll is delivering its services for have a total capacity of over 1,500 MW, according to the company, which has not named the projects.

In May, the Denmark-based engineering company won a contract with CSBC DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) for the Hai Long wind farm offshore Taiwan. For the 1,044 MW project, Ramboll will perform the FEED and detailed design of the jacket structures supporting the 14 MW SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines.

Back in October 2020, the engineering company was contracted by China Steel Power Corporation to deliver the full jacket foundation design for the 300 MW Zhong Neng offshore wind farm , also in Taiwan.

Ramboll, which opened a new office in Tokyo in April, said it expected the installed offshore wind capacity in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan to grow from around 2 GW today to 25 GW by 2030.
