Norway-headquartered Integrated Wind Solutions (IWS) has bought into the Danish provider of electrical and technical solutions ProCon.
With an investment of DKK 60 million (around EUR 8 million), IWS has become the majority shareholder of the Danish company.
According to a press release from 5 July, the Norwegian wind farm vessel operator and service provider aims to become a leading offshore wind service player by integrating service operation vessels with engineering, product and manpower services for offshore wind installation, commissioning and operations phases.
This June, IWS subsidiary Awind won a contract with Dogger Bank Wind Farm for the first of its two walk-to-work Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs).
Awind signed newbuild contracts for two purpose-built, walk-to-work CSOVs with China Merchants Industry in March. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2023 and under the newbuild contracts, Awind has secured an option agreement for up to four additional vessels.
As for ProCon Wind Energy, the company recently started the electrical testing and commissioning of the monopiles and transition pieces at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France , and will continue with the work until estimated completion by end of 2022.
The company has also worked at several offshore wind projects worldwide over the past couple of years, including the Yunlin offshore wind farm in Taiwan and the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) pilot project in the US.
