DEME Offshore has installed 100 turbines on the Hornsea Two offshore wind farm, with 65 more of Siemens Gamesa 8.4 MW units left to be put into place.
The jack-up vessel Sea Challenger installed the first wind turbine at the end of May and in less than three months later the project had 50 wind turbines installed on their respective foundations.
The work is being carried out by both Sea Installer and Sea Challenger , which are transporting the turbines from Siemens Gamesa’s facilities in the Port of Hull and installing them at the project site.
Along with 165 wind turbines, Ørsted’s1,386 MW Hornsea Two will also comprise an offshore substation, and a reactive compensation station (RCS).
