TÜV Rheinland to Check Lifting Gear on Siemens Gamesa’s Offshore Wind Turbines

TÜV Rheinland has signed a framework agreement with Siemens Gamesa for inspections of service lifts and cranes on the manufacturer’s offshore wind turbines in the North and Baltic Seas.

The company will inspect the service lifts and cranes of the wind turbines that are maintained by Siemens Gamesa on behalf of the operators, including Siemens Gamesa’s own turbines and those produced by Adwen and Senvion.

The new agreement follows a contract signed at the beginning of the year for tests on offshore wind turbines in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, and is a continuation of the cooperation of Siemens Gamesa with TÜV Rheinland which has been in place since 2017.

TÜV Rheinland said it had already inspected service lifts at the Borkum and Global Tech 1 wind farms on behalf of Siemens Gamesa this year and that it would again significantly expand its testing activities through the framework agreement next year.
