Danish wind farm installation vessel owner and operator Cadeler A/S has secured a preferred supplier agreement (PSA) with an undisclosed client for the transport and installation of next-generation wind turbines.
The contract has a final value above EUR 45 million and the installation project will be executed by one of Cadeler’s O-class vessels featuring a new and larger main crane.
By the time the project is set to start, the jack-up will have the new main crane installed with a lifting capacity of 1,600 metric tons at a radius of 40 metres, Cadeler said.
According to Cadeler, the agreement was made possible through advanced discussions with the company’s strategic partners that took place in the early stages of the process.
This is the third contract or PSA for Cadeler in less than a month. Back in October, the company signed a PSA with Ørsted for the Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 projects in the German North Sea.
Several days later, Cadeler was selected by Van Oord to transport and install the wind turbines at the 759 MW Hollandse Kust (noord) wind farm in the Dutch North Sea.
