Aker Solutions AS has awarded MRC Global Norway AS with a contract to provide the complete scope of valves, instrumentation, piping, tubing, and fittings for the Sunrise Wind offshore wind power project in the US.
Last year, Aker Solutions AS won a EUR 309 million contract to deliver the offshore converter platform, consisting of a steel jacket foundation, and a topside platform deck, housing the electrical equipment on the Sunrise Wind offshore wind project.
The system is scheduled to be delivered in the second half of 2025.
Under the contract, MRC Global will provide approximately 1,000 check, control, relief, and other valves, as well as over 20,600 feet (about 6,278 metres) of piping and tubing.
According to the company, the abovementioned products will be used in seawater cooling systems for high voltage equipment in the project, the diesel fuel system used to power certain parts of the wind farm platform, and firefight systems.

The 924 MW Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm is developed by a joint venture between Danish clean energy company Ørsted and US-based energy provider Eversource.
