Denmark-based companies Offshore Windservice A/S and C-Bed I ApS have won EU tenders to provide support vessels during operations and maintenance (O&M) services at the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.
Both tenders were carried out by DanTysk Sandbank Offshore Wind GmbH & Co. KG.
The offshore wind farms are owned by Vattenfall (51 per cent) and Stadtwerke München (49 per cent).
Under the agreement, the Offshore Windservice A/S will provide crew transfer vessels (CTVs), while C-Bed I ApS will supply a walk-to-work (W2W) service operations vessel (SOV) during O&M service campaigns at the offshore wind farms.
Vattenfall will consider as SOV any DP2 vessel with a gangway that meets all technical, HS and EnSu employers requirements.
The CTVs will be used to travel to the projects’ accommodation platforms, as well as for the transfer of turbine technicians for servicing and troubleshooting work.
The duration of the first contract for the CTVs is from 2022 to 2025. The first two years will be firm, while the next two will be optional for charters.
The second contract for the SOV encompasses an O&M service campaign in 2022 on the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms.
Maintenance works will begin in 2022 from the base port in Esbjerg, Denmark.
The O&M services will be carried out by Deutsche Windtechik, which recently won the EU tender for the Dantysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms.
The 288 MW DanTysk offshore wind farm, located some 70 kilometres west of the island of Sylt, comprises 80 Siemens Gamesa 3.6 MW turbines that have been in operation since 2014.
Sandbank offshore wind farm has been in operation since 2017. The wind farm also has a 288 MW capacity and its 72 Siemens Gamesa 4 MW turbines are spinning some 90 kilometres west of Sylt.
