NOV and Lamprell have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which the Dubai-based manufacturer will provide the fabrication, assembly and outfitting for NOV’s tri-floaters that are planned to be installed at Cerulean Winds’ floating wind project, proposed to power green hydrogen production and electrification of oil and gas assets in Scotland.
Cerulean Winds unveiled the project in June 2021, proposing to install 200+ floating wind turbines at three 1 GW sites West of Shetland in the Central North Sea, which would be providing 3 GW/h to feed power to the offshore oil and gas assets, and excess 1.5 GW/h to power onshore green hydrogen plants.
