SSE Renewables has chosen the Port of Den Helder to be the operations and maintenance (O&M) base for its project(s) in the Hollandse Kust West offshore wind zone in the Netherlands, should the company win development rights in the tender.

SSE Renewables, which has now rented commercial space in the building of the former fish market, also wants to produce green hydrogen in the Port of Den Helder in order to have a stable supply for the vessels that will be deployed for wind farm maintenance, which are planned to run on hydrogen.
