Endiprev has started working on the 342 MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm in Germany under a contract with Siemens Gamesa, the project’s wind turbine supplier.
Throughout the next six months, Endiprev will perform installation and finishing works for Siemens Gamesa on the Kaskasi offshore wind farm, located in the German North Sea, 35 kilometres north of the island of Heligoland.
Siemens Gamesa will supply 38 SG 8.0-167 DD Flex wind turbines to the offshore wind farm under a contract signed with RWE in 2020.
Each wind turbine will have an installed capacity of up to 9 MW while a number of wind turbines will be equipped with recyclable rotor blades.
The wind turbine manufacturer described the RecycleBlade as the world’s first wind turbine blade ready for commercial use offshore that can be recycled at the end of its lifecycle.
The installation of the wind turbines is scheduled to start this Summer, and the wind farm is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Seaway 7 and DEME already installed more than half of the monopile foundations at the project’s construction site.

Apart from the recyclable blades, Kaskasi offshore wind farm, also known as Kaskasi II, will host several other innovations such as collared monopiles , and the use of vibratory pile driving as part of the VISSKA project. The wind farm will also host a research project on the impact of the Global Blockage Effect (GBE) in offshore wind.
