Ulstein Power & Control has awarded Acel with a contract to deliver main switchboards for two construction service operation vessels (CSOVs) that Ulstein Verft is building for Norway-based Olympic.

The contract includes the delivery of 690V, 440V, and 230V main switchboards, and shore connection for the offshore wind vessels as well as the emergency switchboards.

“It is an honor to be part of the building of these vessels, and it is also an important milestone for ACEL to get this significant contract within the offshore wind segment. This is aligned with our vision on making positive environmental changes within the offshore wind energy market”, said Marius Granlien , Sales Manager at Acel.

Last week, Olympic signed a contract with Ulstein Verft for two CSOVs and options for two additional CSOVs, all of which are based on the SX222 design with TWIN-X Stern from Ulstein Design & Solutions.

The CSOVs have hybrid battery propulsion and are prepared for methanol fuel to enable zero emissions.

With a length of 89.6 metres and a beam of 19.2 metres, the vessels can accommodate 126 people in 91 cabins.

The hull shape and hybrid propulsion system will ensure high operational performances and seakeeping, and substantially reduced environmental footprint, according to Ulstein.
