The New South Wales (NSW) government has received 44 expressions of interest for power generation and energy storage projects at the Illawarra Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) , eight of which are offshore wind farms proposed to be built in the Australian state.
The REZ has attracted AUD 43 billion (approximately EUR 29.7 billion) in potential investments, with more than AUD 35 billion (approx. EUR 24.2 billion) in potential investment from ten wind generation projects totalling 12.9 GW in capacity, eight of which are offshore.
