GE Power Conversion has partnered with Tersan Shipyard in Türkiye to deliver the power and propulsion, dynamic positioning (DP), and vessel control systems for two construction service operation vessels (CSOVs) for Dutch maritime support provider, Acta Marine.
GE Power Conversion’s scope of supply features the power-dense SeaPulse LV3 family of converters which are deployed in propulsion, thruster drive, and energy storage roles.
The company will also deliver its SeaStream DP system, incorporating the recently launched “All Speed Wind Farm Mode”.
Combined with the GE Power Conversion Seagreen battery energy storage and electric propulsion systems, the new vessels have the potential for a significantly reduced carbon footprint, GE said.
In June, Acta Marine signed a contract with Tersan Shipyard for the construction of two next-generation, Methanol MDO/HVO powered CSOVs that will carry the new SX-216 TWIN-X Stern design from Ulstein Design & Solutions AS.

The 89-metre long CSOVs will be used to support projects during the construction and commissioning of offshore wind farms, as well as to conduct maintenance work on operational wind farms.
The first two boats are scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarter of 2024. The company also reserved options for two additional CSOVs for delivery at a later stage.
