Purus Marine has announced the acquisition of HST Marine, a UK-based provider of Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) to the offshore wind industry.
HTS’s fleet of CTVs includes one of the industry’s first battery hybrid vessels, the Chartwell-designed HST Ella.
The 26-metre vessel is able to carry 24 industrial personnel and uses Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO30) as fuel – a market first for a CTV.
HST Ella features an electric motor that sits alongside a diesel engine to drive a high-performance changeable pitch propeller (CPP) system.
Post-acquisition, Purus Wind, Purus Marine’s offshore wind business, will employ around 100 people in the UK and Norway offering battery hybrid CTVs, offshore wind construction/service operation vessels (C/SOV), inspection drones, and other services.

Purus Marine was established in April 2021 by the London-based asset management firm, EnTrust Global.
The maritime holding company revealed its offshore wind expansion plans last year with an agreement to acquire a large hybrid-electric SOV.
