The Dutch government plans to announce the winner of the tender to develop the 750 MW Hollandse Kust (west) VI wind farm next week.

The winner will be announced next Thursday, 15 December, after 6 PM CET, according to Ruud De Bruijne, Project manager Energy Systems and Offshore Wind at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

”This tender is a comparative assessment on ecological measures combined with a financial bid,” De Bruijne said in a social media post.

The bidding window for the Hollandse Kust (west) Sites VI and VII closed on 12 May.

Back in November, the Dutch Minister for Climate and Energy Rob Jetten announced that RWE had won the permit to build a wind farm at the Hollandse Kust (west) Site VII through its subsidiary, Oranje Wind Power II.

”This tender was a comparative assessment on system integration combined with a financial bid,” De Bruijne said.

Located 53 kilometres from the coast, the site for a future bottom-fixed offshore wind farm covers an area of approximately 88 square kilometres and is expected to generate more than 3.4 TWh of clean energy.

The maximum number of turbines to be installed at each site is 60, with an individual rated capacity of at least 14 MW.
