Australia-headquartered Incat Crowther has delivered a new catamaran crew transfer vessel (CTV) to Shanghai-based Goldsea Marine & Offshore Engineering (Goldsea).
The Incat Crowther 32 , built by AFAI Southern shipyard in Guangzhou, is a step change for the Chinese offshore wind industry, offering enhanced capabilities compared with existing Chinese vessels, including a large cargo zone and a maximum speed of up to 25 knots, Incat Crowther said.
The handover of the 32-metre CTV follows sea trials and the vessel will now be put into service transporting up to twelve technicians and six crew members to and from Goldsea’s offshore wind assets.
Designed specifically for conditions in China, the vessel is prepared for a deck crane capable of lifting two tonnes at a reach of ten metres.
Safety has also been prioritised, Incat Crowther said, with the company’s “Resilient Bow” technology ensuring safe landings and transfers during wave height conditions in excess of two metres.
The vessel is designed with a large deadweight capacity to enable it to stay offshore for long periods.
Incat announced that the catamaran CTV for Goldsea was under construction last October. This delivery marks the first collaboration between Goldsea and Incat Crowther.
