Aarsleff to Deliver Concrete Working Platforms for TP-Less Monopiles at Ørsted’s German Offshore Wind Farms

Aarsleff BIZ Sp. z o.o., a Polish subsidiary of the Danish company Per Aarsleff Holding A/S, has produced almost a third of the concrete working platforms for the TP-less monopiles that will be installed at Ørsted’s Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind farms in Germany.

Besides the concrete working platforms, Aarsleff is also responsible for the production and mounting of aluminium railings, upper external ladder, and davit crane installation and load testing as well as the Low Voltage scope.

The company commenced the production of the working platforms on 1 September and has so far casted 34 of the total of 106 platforms so far, casting three platforms per week.

The first, mock up platform was delivered to Lindø, Denmark, in October and the deliveries of the remaining platforms are planned between April and July 2023, Aarsleff BIZ says.

The XXL monopiles for the 242 MW Gode Wind 3 and the 900 MW Borkum Riffgrund 3 will be delivered by Bladt Industries and Steelwind Nordenham under supply contracts signed with Ørsted in September last year.

In May this year, the Belgium-based company Smulders was announced as the supplier of the secondary steel components for the TP-less foundations for the two offshore wind farms.

Located close to Ørsted’s existing offshore wind farms Borkum Riffgrund 1 & 2 and Gode Wind 1 & 2, both Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 will feature Siemens Gamesa 11 MW offshore wind turbines.

Gode Wind 3 is expected to be commissioned in 2024 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 is scheduled to come online the following year.
