Finnish provider of zero-emission energy solutions, Enersense International, has received an order from Bladt Industries to provide structural components for three offshore substations.

The project will start with engineering and planning in December 2022 and the components will be delivered to Bladt Industries in several batches between the fourth quarter of 2023 and the second quarter of 2024, Enersense said.

The structural components for the offshore substations will be manufactured at Enersense’s fabrication yard in Mäntyluoto, Finland, and will be transported to Denmark with Enersense’s own barge.

The project is estimated to employ up to 300 persons.

Enersense described the order as the company’s ”first significant step in executing its offshore wind power strategy” .

”Offshore foundations are one of the three spearheads of Enersense’s growth strategy. The market potential of offshore wind power is substantial. The offshore wind capacity in Europe is expected to double over the next five years and the total market potential is estimated at over EUR 100 billion,” said Jussi Holopainen , CEO of Enersense.

”During the past year we have invested in the ramp-up of our Mäntyluoto fabrication yard and this first offshore wind power project is a clear sign of our competitiveness and capabilities as a manufacturer of offshore foundations. We are very pleased that the leading European manufacturer of offshore wind power foundations has chosen us as their partner, and we thank them for their confidence.”
