Cadeler’s jack-up vessel Wind Orca is scheduled to start work on the Moray East offshore wind farm today, 1 February, when major component inspection and repair activities are set to begin on several wind turbines.
The work is planned to be done on four potential wind turbines that might need repair and will be taking place until 3 March.
According to AIS information available online, Wind Orca was still at the Seagreen offshore wind farm , being built off the Scottish southeast coast, at the end of the last month.
The 950 MW Moray East offshore wind farm, all of whose wind turbines have been spinning off the northeast coast of Scotland since the beginning of last year, features 100 Vestas V164-9.5MW units.
Installed some 22 kilometres off Aberdeenshire, the offshore wind farm is owned by Moray Offshore Windfarm (East) Limited, a joint venture company owned by Ocean Winds (56.6 per cent), Diamond Green Limited (33.4 per cent), and CTG (10 per cent).
Moray East is currently the largest operational offshore wind farm in Scotland, a title that will soon be taken over by the 1.1 GW Seagreen.
